
The Department of Computer Applications organized a one-day workshop on UI/UX Designing for First Year BCA students on 11th March 2026 from 9:30 AM onwards in Software Lab II. The session was handled by Anto Soji, a professional UI/UX Designer from Gentrius IT Solutions. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design and to create awareness about the importance of user-centered design in modern software development. During the session, the resource person explained key concepts such as design thinking, user research, wireframing, prototyping, usability principles, and the role of visual hierarchy in creating effective digital interfaces. The session included practical demonstrations and interactive discussions where students were encouraged to analyze popular mobile and web applications from a UI/UX perspective. Mr. Anto Soji also shared insights from his professional experience in the industry, highlighting current trends, tools, and best practices followed by UI/UX designers. Students were introduced to the basic workflow of designing user-friendly interfaces and were guided on how to transform ideas into structured layouts through wireframes and prototypes. The workshop proved to be highly beneficial and engaging for the participants. As an outcome, students gained a clear understanding of the significance of UI/UX design in developing efficient and user-friendly software applications. The session helped enhance their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and awareness of design principles. It also motivated them to integrate UI/UX concepts into their academic projects and inspired many students to explore career opportunities in the growing field of UI/UX design.
