MSW-The Post Graduate degree that focuses on the study and practice of Social Work. This profession stands to promote social justice, equality and overall wellbeing of the individual, family, groups and communities. Social Workers are inevitable components in addressing any social issues.

Master of Social Work is a two year programme with four semesters.

This programme equips the students with knowledge, skills, values and principles of the Social Work profession.  The course is designed to function as a voice for the voiceless by intermediating the vulnerable communities with their needs and resources.

This curriculum prepares the students to become an enthusiastic, dedicated social worker with professional demeanor.  This foundation provides the students with an excellent environment to boost up their capabilities and potentials to maximum.

Programme  Specific Outcome

  • Expertise in Primary methods of social work such as social case work, social group work and community organization.

  • Conducting field work at various agencies which makes the candidate as an ideal social worker

  • Familiarize the social work values and principles through observation visits to various settings.

  • Addressing the social problems with the application of auxiliary methods of social work i.e. Social work research.

  • Demonstrate skills in mobilization and utilization of societal resources.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for applying for Master of social Work are:

Any Degree from any university with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Course Design

The PG programme in Social Work is a two year academic curriculum with four semesters upon which each semester comprises of 90 days with 54 hours on each paper. Each semester includes observation visits, field work; add on courses, seminar, Project and viva voce.
