As part of the Association Day programme Zytrex 2025, the Department of Computer Applications and CASIN organized a Tech Awareness Program for school students from Government LP School, Nadakavu, Ernakulam. The students were invited to visit the campus and participate in a Mini Tech Fest, providing them exposure to emerging technologies and hands-on learning experiences. During the program, students explored integrated digital tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Virtual Reality (VR), gaining insights into their applications for active learning. They also experienced the agricultural drone, learning its efficient use in agriculture. Students observed the working of a 3D printer, interacted with small robotic gaming kits, and handled toolkits to develop small robots. Additionally, they explored the internal components and architecture of a CPU and participated in E-waste craft activities, creating pen holders and decorative items from electronic waste, which was a novel and educational experience for them.  The Tech Awareness Program successfully enhanced students’ technical awareness by providing insights into AI, VR, digital tools, and robotics and their practical applications. It offered hands-on learning experiences with drones, 3D printers, and robotics toolkits, fostering skill development, while E-waste craft activities encouraged creativity and resourcefulness. Students also gained an understanding of CPU architecture, hardware components, and the application of technology in agriculture, and the program inspired interest in STEM learning, motivating them to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics further. The Tech Awareness Program for school students was highly successful in providing practical knowledge, skill development, and creative learning opportunities. It effectively contributed to outcome-based education by promoting innovation, hands-on experience, and awareness of emerging technologies among young learners.
