The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in association with the Women’s Cell of Nirmala Arts and Science College, Mulanthuruthy, organized an awareness program titled “Awareness & Action: Building a Safer Society” on February 24, 2025. The session aimed to educate students on safety measures, legal aspects, and the importance of proactive action in ensuring a secure society. The event began with an introductory address by Mrs. Sona T. M. The keynote session was led by Akhil M Sisupal, Assistant Prison Officer at Borstal School, Thrikkakara, under the Kerala Jail Department. During his talk, the speaker highlighted various aspects of safety, legal awareness, and the role of individuals in crime prevention. He emphasized the importance of vigilance, responsible citizenship, and the role of law enforcement in maintaining a safer society. The session also covered practical measures that students could adopt to enhance their safety and contribute to community well-being. The session was interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and posing insightful questions. The event provided a platform for meaningful dialogue on the challenges and solutions related to safety in society. Principal Dr. C. A. Geetha Ma’am delivered a short address regarding the session. Following this, Prof. Daisy Ma’am, Dr. Geetha Ma’am, and Sona Miss presented a token of appreciation to the speaker as a gesture of gratitude. The program was coordinated by Mrs. Sona T M (Convenor, Women’s Cell) and Mr. Lalu P Joy (IQAC Coordinator). The event concluded with vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the speaker, organizers, and participants. The session was well-received, leaving students with valuable knowledge on fostering a safer society through awareness and action.
