As part of the National Handloom Day celebrations, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and WanderWise- Tourism Club of NASC organized a hands-on Chekkutty Doll Making Workshop that witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across departments. The workshop introduced students to the inspiring story behind Chekkutty dolls, which are handcrafted from handloom sarees damaged during the 2018 Kerala floods. The session highlighted the values of resilience, sustainability, and creativity. The event served as a platform to engage students in innovation and cultural preservation. Participants explored how traditional crafts can be reimagined into symbols of hope and entrepreneurship. The session was coordinated by Ms. Abigail Ann Clements, IIC Convenor, Ms. Neha Tom, Tourism Club Member with the presence and support of Dr. (Prof.) Mini K D, Principal and Prof. Daisy N O, Dean. The initiative successfully encouraged students to think creatively, act responsibly, and appreciate the power of rebuilding through innovation.
