
Department of management Studies conducted a Legal Awareness Session to empower students with essential knowledge about their rights, responsibilities, and the importance of accessing legal services. The session was handled by Thanuja Roshan George , Advocate High court of Kerala and Panel member, Victim right Centre,Kochi. It aimed to build confidence among youth to approach legal institutions when required and to understand the significance of legal literacy in everyday life. The resource person emphasized how awareness of basic laws helps individuals make informed decisions, avoid exploitation, and participate responsibly in society. During the session, the speaker explained key aspects such as constitutional rights, consumer protection, cyber laws, and the legal remedies available for common issues faced by students. The importance of seeking timely legal assistance and the role of legal aid services were highlighted to motivate students to overcome fear or hesitation related to legal procedures. The session also addressed real-life examples to help students understand the practical relevance of legal knowledge. Interactive discussions formed an important part of the programme. Students were encouraged to raise questions, share experiences, and express their concerns about legal accessibility. The resource person urged students to stay informed, develop critical thinking, and actively make use of government legal service authorities when needed. Overall, the session proved highly insightful and empowering. It helped students gain clarity on the importance of legal awareness and encouraged them to confidently access legal services to safeguard their rights and contribute to a more legally conscious society.
