The Women’s cell in association with Health Yoga and Sports club of Nirmala Arts & Science college, Mulanthuruthy, has organized an awareness class on ‘First Aid’ on 21^rd January 2025 at the college auditorium. The session began with the formal welcome address by Mrs. Sona T M, Women’s cell convenor and Assistant Professor, Post Graduate Department of Psychology. Dr. Geetha C A, Principal of the college, Prof. Daisy N O, Dean of the college and Mr. Ajin Kuriakose, Sports Club Convenor were present throughout the meeting. The First Aid Awareness Class was conducted to educate participants on the basics of first aid and emergency response.

The class aimed to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide immediate assistance in the event of an injury or medical emergency. Resource person for the day were Dr Abishek Anto, MBBS – Govt Medical College Calicut, DNB Emergency Medicine Baby Memorial Hospital Calicut, Presently Consultant in Dept of Emergency Medicine MOSC Kolenchery and Dr Bibin Kurian, MBBS MOSC Medical College Kolenchery, Junior Resident. The team has covered Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Treating burns and scalds, managing bleeding and wounds, Handling fractures and sprains, Dealing with choking incidents etc. They have addressed participants’ questions and concerns and clarified doubts about specific first aid scenarios. Attendees were encouraged to spread awareness and share their knowledge with others. The First Aid Awareness Class successfully achieved its objectives of educating and empowering participants with essential first aid skills.
