A Fire Safety Awareness Programme on the theme “Be Fire – Ready, Save Lives” was successfully organized on 17th September 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The programme aimed at educating participants on the significance of fire safety, preparedness, and preventive measures to minimize risks during fire emergencies. A total of 67 participants, including students and faculty members, actively took part in the session. The resource person, Mr. Rajesh R, Senior Fire and Rescue Officer, shared his vast knowledge and expertise on fire hazards, types of fire, common causes, and the appropriate response techniques. He explained the importance of early detection systems, proper evacuation methods, and the safe handling of electrical appliances and flammable materials. The session also included practical demonstrations on the operation of different types of fire extinguishers and the correct techniques for tackling small-scale fires. Mr. Rajesh emphasized the importance of presence of mind during emergencies and highlighted the role of teamwork in ensuring safety. The interactive nature of the programme encouraged participants to raise questions, clarify doubts, and share their experiences, making the session highly engaging and impactful. The event was meticulously coordinated by Miss Ashly Jose, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, who ensured the smooth organization and participation of students. Her efforts, along with the support of the department, contributed to the programme’s success. The participants expressed that the session was extremely beneficial, as it not only enhanced their awareness but also empowered them with practical skills to face unforeseen fire emergencies confidently. Overall, the Fire Safety Awareness Programme proved to be a valuable learning experience, reinforcing the need for preparedness, precaution, and presence of mind in crisis situations. By spreading the message of “Be Fire-Ready, Save Lives,” the session instilled a sense of responsibility among the participants towards ensuring safety at individual, institutional, and community levels.
