An official awareness talk was conducted by Anti- Narcotic Cell in association with IQAC on the topic of Drug Abuse. The occasion was graced by an eminent personality, Madam Nisli S, Civil Excise Officer, Thripunithura. Mrs Maria Alias, Assistant Professor Department of English introduced the theme of the programme and the purpose of the gathering. Mrs. Mariam Grace, Assistant Professor Department of Management Studies delivered the welcome speech. In her speech, she emphasized the psychological and physiological problems caused by drug abuse. Mr. George Kuriakose, Manager, Nirmala College of Arts and Science, delivered the presidential address. The main message was delivered by Dr. Geetha C.A, Principal of Nirmala College of Arts and Science, about the rising rate of substance abuse. Prof. Daisy N.O, Dean of the College, delivered a dean’s message. The resource person conveyed a great message about growing solvent abuse in a comic way. The presentation was so striking. She also conveyed the seriousness and worrying situation of drug abuse. All participants found it to be very interesting and informative. The session was concluded by a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Bhavana Laxmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce.
