
The Career Guidance and Placement Cell, in association with the Department of Computer Applications, organized a seminar on the topic “AI Integration in the Multimedia Sector” on January 22, 2025, for the second-year students. The event was conducted by Image Creative Education, Palarivattom, and was aimed at introducing students to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in multimedia. Head of the Department, Mr. Eldho Peter, who welcomed the resource persons, Mrs. Rajeena Rahim (Academic Coordinator, Image Creative Education) and Mrs. Soumya Wilson (Programme Head, Image Creative Education). Mr. Peter also highlighted the importance of AI in transforming various sectors, including multimedia, and encouraged the students to make the most of this informative session.
The first session of the seminar was delivered by Mrs. Rajeena Rahim, who provided a detailed overview of the concepts of multimedia and artificial intelligence. She introduced the students to the latest trends in the multimedia industry and discussed the various technologies used to integrate AI into multimedia applications. Mrs. Rahim emphasized how AI is reshaping content creation, animation, and video production, making it more efficient and innovative. The second session, led by Mrs. Soumya Wilson, focused on how AI is integrated with multimedia. She elaborated on the various tools and software that are being used in the industry to develop multimedia content with AI. Mrs. Wilson explained the role of machine learning, deep learning, and other AI technologies in areas like image and video editing, content personalization, and real-time graphics. Her session was very interactive, and students actively engaged with questions about the technical aspects and real-world applications of AI in multimedia. At the end of the seminar, an interactive Q&A session was conducted, where students had the opportunity to clear their doubts and discuss their thoughts with the speakers. The students showed great interest and asked questions related to the future of AI in multimedia and its potential career opportunities. In addition to the seminar topics, Mrs. Rajeena Rahim and Mrs. Soumya Wilson provided information on the IT courses offered by Image Creative Education. These courses, designed specifically for IT students, serve as an excellent add-on to their degree programs and help them gain expertise in AI and multimedia tools.
