Voice of Youth
“Dream is not what you see in sleep, it is something that does not let you sleep.”
The quote by Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam certainly reflects the spirit of pursuing dreams and making them a reality. It’s wonderful to hear how a team of eleven members from different departments came together to fulfill their dream of creating your college newspaper. Dreams do have the power to inspire and unite people for a common purpose.
On 1st October 2020, the idea of doing something for our college came up in the minds of our Chief Editor, Mahima Verma, and our Deputy Editor, Athul Varghese of 2nd year BA English. To bring this idea into action, they contacted Vidya Miss, the Convenor of our newspaper. She was really impressed. She advised them to form a team and do the groundwork before proposing this idea to the management. The next day, we had our first meeting through google meet. The newspaper was named “Voice of Youth”. Designations were given. Works were divided. When we were ready with a full proof plan, we again contacted Vidya Miss and she conveyed our idea to the management.
Promptly, the following day, we convened our first meeting through a Google Meet session. During this meeting, we officially christened our forthcoming newspaper “Voice of Youth.” Roles and designations were thoughtfully assigned, and responsibilities were divided among the team members. Once we had meticulously outlined our plan, we reconnected with Vidya Miss, who in turn communicated our proposal to the college management.
Just a week later, on October 7, 2020, the Editorial Team had a significant meeting with teachers from various language departments who had generously offered to assist us with editorial tasks. During this meeting, the team enthusiastically presented their ideas, as well as the logo, skillfully crafted by our Technical Heads, Arun Raj R. and Clevin Robert, both in their second year of the BCA program.
The teachers were delighted to witness their students’ dedication and commitment to making a positive impact on the college. With their encouragement and approval, we received the green light to proceed. This endorsement made us even stronger, as we now had the full support and backing of our esteemed manager, Sri. George Kuriakose Sir, our principal, Dr. Geetha Mam, and our Dean, Prof. Daisy Mam.
It was our dedicated teachers who encouraged us to officially launch our newspaper with a grand inauguration. Without delay, we initiated the planning process. An initial concern was identifying the most suitable chief guest for this significant event.
