The Department of Postgraduate Psychology organized an expert talk on the topic “Learning Disability and Career Prospects in Child Psychology” on February 21, 2024, as part of their monthly Wednesday chapter program. The inauguration was officiated by Principal Dr. Geetha C. A, Dean Professor Daisy N. O, and Vice Principal Murali Sir. Mrs. Sona T. M, Head of the Department, Assistant Professor, along with Ms. Nalina Biju, addressed the gathering. The resource person for the event was Mrs. Chanchana Jacob V, a renowned child psychologist and special educator known for her work at a private clinic where she handles numerous child cases in her field. The expert talk was conducted in the seminar hall and catered to BSc Psychology students, both undergraduate and postgraduate. The session proved to be highly interactive and informative, with the resource person sharing insights on various intellectual disability disorders, including learning disabilities, and discussing techniques such as brain gym activation in students. Overall, both students and faculty members were able to glean valuable insights from the session.
