The Department of Computer Applications, in collaboration with the Commerce Department, hosted a seminar titled “Multimedia Revolution” in the Conference Hall  On October 18, 2024 for first-year B.Com students. The event was graced by Ms. Parvathy TK, who warmly welcomed the resource persons: Jyothish Chandran, Graphics & VFX Faculty, and Jithin Krishna, Animation Faculty, both from Arena Animations, Palarivattom. The seminar also welcomed Mr. Bitto Paul, Head of the Department of Commerce. The seminar provided an insightful introduction to the fields of multimedia and animation, offering a valuable perspective for students coming from non-IT backgrounds. The resource persons shared fundamental steps for creating simple animation videos, complemented by live demonstrations. They also introduced the latest tools and techniques currently used in the multimedia industry, emphasizing attractive media design. The session was highly interactive, encouraging students to engage and ask questions about current trends and opportunities within the multimedia sector. This interactive approach allowed students to clarify their doubts and gain deeper insights into the industry. Overall, the seminar served as a capacity-building initiative aimed at enhancing the IT skills of the students. It successfully equipped attendees with essential knowledge about multimedia and animation, opening new avenues for their future endeavors. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Bincy John from the Department of Computer Applications, expressing gratitude to the resource persons and all participants for their contributions to a successful seminar.
