Third year BSc Psychology students of Nirmala Arts & Science College, Mulanthuruthy along with faculties visited Kusumagiri Autism Centre which is also known as Nirmala training centre for exceptional children located in Kakkanad, Kochi on 5th of July 2022. A session was arranged for the students and faculties by the principal of the centre Sr. Serena MSJ, which intended to give ideas regarding Autism spectrum disorder, and the total functioning and structure of the centre. The centre made sure to attend to the needs of each and every child in particular by providing them a personal trainer. They engaged children with craftworks and such extra activities by providing them with audio-visual room, so that they gain skills in different areas.
The students along with faculties of Department of psychology spent a quality time by observing, also engaging with them in various activities in order to gain more ideas about neurodevelopmental conditions and their wellbeing.
