“On October 9, 2024, the Postgraduate Department of Psychology in association with counselling cell organized an Assertiveness training session exclusively for Msc psychology students on behalf of mental health day observance.
The programme commenced with an introductory message by the HOD, followed by an engaging icebreaker session, “Artist,” led by the speaker, “Shilpa Ma’am”. Students described their motivating qualities on paper, fostering self-reflection. To maintain enthusiasm, interactive games were incorporated. Daisy ma’am highlighted the speaker’s unique characteristics, emphasizing individual strengths. As an energizer, students participated in a group skit activity, illustrating aggressive, assertive, and passive communication styles. The ball game facilitated Q&A.
Akshay Sir delivered a brief session on IPC & hostile work environment. Discussed the strategies for effective workplace interactions and also addressed student queries. The programme concluded with a self-affirmation exercise, empowering participants to cultivate confidence.
Overall, the program was a resounding success, effectively promoting awareness and sparking important methods to become an assertive person.”
