Remembering the goodness of sacrifice, Arts Club of Nirmala Arts and Science College celebrated Onam with a plethora of events on 31 st August 2022 . The event was named Aaravam, which really reflected the spirit of celebration. The festive mood that prevailed in the campus filled everyone’s mind with happiness and cheer. Pookkalam competition started at 9:30 am. There were 5 entries for the same. Venues were allotted to the teams by lot system. Department of Management Studies were the winners of floral carpet designing competition. There was a Thiruvathira performance by students from various departments in the auditorium. Onappaattu was also sung by the students.The Melam performance arranged as part of the celebration stole the hearts of everyone. The real spirit of Kerala Traditional Celebration was visible during the Melam moments. A tug of war was conducted in connection with the celebration following the standard rules of the competition.There were separate teams of boys and girls from each department. Department of Psychology emerged the winners. The celebration became meaningful with the Onasadya which everyone enjoyed following the tug of war.
