Union Day

The college union election for the academic year 2017-2018 was held on 22ndaugust 2017 as per the university guidelines. We followed the presidential form of election. Vipin PS was elected as the chairman and Sreevarshini R as the vice chairperson. The oath taking ceremony was conducted on 13th September. Principal Prof. Daisny NO presided over the proceedings. The Union Day “Prayaag” was inaugurated on 29th November. The programme was enriched with young talents. The chief guest guests of the day were the talented cine actors Sri Bineesh Bastin and Sri Govind Padmasoorya. Their presence created an enthusiastic environment. The programme began with a classical dance performance the event was made more entertaining by the college music band’s performance.

Arts Day

Amidist the grandeur of colours and flowers college union celebrated onam on august 11. Students set up attractive floral decorations in the reception area. The public function was conducted in the college auditorium. Principal Prof. Daisy NO and Rev. father Baby Echiravelil cor episcopa gave messages. The main attractions of the programme were Mahabalis visit accompanied by chendamelam, thiruvathirakali, flower carpet competition, tug of war and other fun games. The month of December brought in the spirit of Christmas cheer. On December 21 the department of English hosted a live carol song performance and a depiction of nativity scene. Santa danced and distributed gifts holding the audience enthralled. The college union created history as Nirmala Arts and Science College, Mulanthuruthy bagged Third Prize with A Grade in Mahathma Gandhi University Youth Festival Skit competition 2018.

Sports Day

The sports club of the College was inaugurated on 20th July. Football, Cricket and Volleyball are among the main sports promoted. The football team got selection for the All-Kerala Sevens Intercollegiate football tournament. The College team emerged runners-up in the North Zone Football semi-finals held at MA College, Kothamangalam. The sports week was organised in the month of December. Events such as Shuttle badminton, Cricket, Football and Chess matches were held.

Traffic Rules Awareness (Orientation for Students)

Raising traffic awareness is a priority in this age of increasing road accidents. The college union and college management took initiation in inviting Janamythri police for an awareness programmme on traffic safety on 9th October. The sub inspector of police Sri K O Mathachan inaugurated the event. Beat officer Sri CK Unni addressed the gathering. The class which was conducted under the leadership of Rtd. SI sri. KB Vijayan was a big success.

College Day

Union concluded yearlong activities towards the end of academic year with a fantabulous college day awarding both academic and non-academic toppers of the year. When the principal presided over all the proceedings of the day both students and teachers actively participated in all the events and made college day a grand success.
