Divyangjan Committee

Divyangjan committee  was established in our college on 2020. The committee was formed with an objective of empowerment of students with disabilities (Divyangjan, connoted as divine body). This committee conducts programs to create awareness and accept diversity as a part of human existence in its institutional practices. It further enables the atmosphere of respect and preserves the identities of the Divyangjan students. This committee facilitates teachers with knowledge and skills of using various aids and appliances required to cater needs of differently abled students. It further makes teaching more inclusive and cognizant for the Divyangjan students. This committee also looks after the physical infrastructure and availing resources as par the special needs of the students.

Objectives

  • To ease out admission process for divyangjan students
  • To create awareness and sensitize about varied needs of divyanjan among teachers and students
  • To augment learning experience for students with special needs with inclusive practices
  • To provide guidance and counselling as par their specific requirements.
  • To assist divyangjan students for self-sustenance and employment

Report 2020-2021

Divyangjan committee of 2020-2021 consist of 8 members. Which includes teachers , students and parents.The committee is taking active steps for the betterment of divyangjan students. Programmes conducted by the committee for the academic year 2020-2021 are;

Mithram-Rehabilitation Center Visit

The committee visited Mithram rehabilitation center thuppampady on 17th December 2020 at 10.30 am.The objective behind the visit was to spend the time with the members and also provide them financial support. Two members representing the committee visited the rehab and it was a memorable visit.

Webinar : Do dreams need wings a speech on inclusion

A webinar is conducted by the committee on 16th January 2021 at 10 am via google meet. The session was handled by Dr.Fathima Asla (writer, social justice activist, mentor.. ). It was really an inspirational talk from her own life. The programme was a great success. It motivates  us to do more support to the divyangjan students.
